KEEN-O, "Nobody Knows How And Why".
Drink Deeply
by Roger Eno
Sun breaks the night
sending shadows to a memory,
The time for our dreams to come true,
Moments fly quickly, our short days
they are numbered,
One day the long night will fall upon you.
Live now, drink deeply,
Time slips through our hands.
Live now,
drink deeply,
Time passes us by.
Elegy Of Himself
by Chidiock Tichborne
(written in the Tower of London before his execution, 1586)
My prime of youth is but a frost of cares;
My feast of joy is but a dish of pain;
My crop of corn id but a field of tares;
And all my good is but vain hope of gain;
The day is past, and yet I saw no sun;
And now I live, and now my life is done.
My tale was heard, and yet I was not told;
My fruit is fall'n, and yet my leaves are green;
My youth is spent, and yet I am not old;
I saw the world, and yet I was not seen:
My thread is cut, and yet it is not spun;
And now I live, and now my life is done.
I sought my death, and found it in my womb;
I looked for life, and saw it was a shade;
I trod the earth, and knew it was my tomb;
And now I die, and now I was but made;
My glass is full, and now my glass is run;
And now I live, and now my life is done.
Mystic Barge
by Blaine L. Reininger
Night put to flight
And we sleep again and dream our dreams
And fret and fly and strike it rich
And fail to die……
Another night on earth, we strive to become
Another night on earth we strive to become
For all we’re worth, for all we are worth.
Sleep long.
Sleep long sleep large
On the mystic barge
Sleep deep, sleep wide on the other side
And my eyes blur and my light grows dim
And the man I was, I call to him
And the vision fades but it’s soon replaced
By and angel’s voice from and angel’s face.
The world will fade, it will be unmade
This day’s travel begins to unravel.
The cloth of the day begins to fray as I hit the hay.
Sleep long, sleep large
On the mystic barge
Sleep deep, sleep wide.
